Why Fleckvieh Cattle?????

Fleckvieh heifer of ours
We have raised many different breeds of cattle over the years. When I was growing up I was partial to our Simmental crosses. Some of them were SimAngus and I have always thought the two breeds complemented each other nicely.
Simmentals were exported from Switzerland to Germany/Austria in the early 1800's. These cattle were raised under a balanced program, they had to be an "all purpose" kind of animal. They were the family's milk cow, beef cow and sometimes draft horse. They have been kept a moderate size throughout the years and the blood has remained pure. They have not gone through the fads over the years, they have been consistent and reliable. I am not a historian and others have done a better job than I can ever do on their History. If your interested in learning more about them I suggest checking out the Fullblood Fleckvieh Federation (www.fleckvieh.com).
These animals have been bred for consistency, they are balanced in all qualities and excel in maternal, muscle and growth. They are very easy keeping and fertile, I could go on....
I believe the best proof is to see the cattle and offspring for yourself and you can make you're own decision. We have gathered a variety of genetics and our goal is raise balanced animals. Please contact me if you have any questions.
